This is the opening theme to the Japanese anime Jungle Emperor, the series that English fans know as Kimba the White Lion. This song, and all others that will follow, are off of the series' s soundtrack. English audiences of this dub received a strange mix of the original score note for note, and the Japanese songs either re-written in English, or scrapped entirely and replaced with a new song(both the beginning and ending theme), or scrapped entirely and not replaced, or had the original Japanese kept with speaking over top. The effect is quite wonderful and horrific at the same time. The dubbing team had a total of 2 tracks to work with; the voice track and the music track. All songs were part of the scoring, so songs could not simply(for the most part) be disposed of. Sound effects were included here, too. The time, and budget, pressed crew didn't have the resources to waste on re-scoring. As technology has progressed it has become easier , and cheaper, to re-score foreign material(BOOO). Luckily, English fans were able to enjoy Isao Tomita's beautiful music, thanks to "primitive" technology.(YAY!) I'm going to share the original Japanese songs with English audiences here, so they can enjoy the full experience of the show. Hope you like it!
